Hewitt’s steel truss floating docks are built with a tapered truss frame that delivers superior strength and stability. Inspired by bridge and crane construction, the open-web design minimizes weight while reducing wave resistance—making it ideal for floating dock systems in rough water or changing lake levels. The frame is available in aluminum or galvanized steel and reinforced with structural angle crossbars for maximum durability. Compared to traditional floating docks, truss frames also allow the dock to sit higher in the water, improving clearance and reducing splash-over in choppy conditions.

High-Performance Floatation Tanks

Each floating dock section is supported by heavy-duty float tanks that meet U.S. military specifications. These tanks feature an EPS foam core inside a seamless polyethylene shell, offering excellent buoyancy, crack resistance, and year-round performance—even in freezing temperatures. For more discreet installations, float tanks can be sunken into the frame for a lower profile on the water.
